FRIDAY! I’m super excited about today’s iPhone backgrounds. The lovely Marisol Ortega made these nature-inspired patterns exclusively for Peony + Ink! For her day job, Marisol designs gift cards for this small little coffee shop called Starbucks, so basically if you use these backgrounds, your phone will be a million times cooler than Starbucks, because even THEY don’t have these patterns. I didn’t have a chance to interview Marisol, but you can find one on the Lost Type blog from a few months ago. Also, I’m going to make a list of a few things about Marisol, mostly because she is getting on a plane for Hawaii and this post will have been published for some time before she reads it!
- Marisol seriously loves breakfast burritos.
- And coffee.
- And chocolate.
- Those three things kept us going during our time together at Theo Chocolate.
- If you give Marisol even the tiniest bit of alcohol, she will burst into a giggle fit.
- She has an adorable, almost-four-year-old who can use watercolors better than most adults I know.
- If I had to pick two words to describe Marisol, they would be sassy and caffeinated.
- She was one of my bridesmaids (she’s on the right) and designed some of the artwork for our wedding invites and hand lettered some signs for the bar and ice cream sandwich station.
- Bartlett is in love with her.
