I’m having a bit of a craft supply problem.
I take that back. I have a lack of a bigger apartment with ample amounts of storage problem.
Currently, you will find boxes under the couch, dining room table, in the laundry and bedroom closets, and under the table in the living room. I should probably mention that the table in the living room is the “temporary” folding card table I purchased to use as a place to take photos. “Look! It folds up, and I can store it in the laundry closet!” I told Andrew. Yeah, the “temporary” part happened once before I stopped putting it away. Now that I work at home, the table is my photo table, my crafting table, and my desk. Until today when I officially took over the dining room table as my photo table.
See, I really do have a lack of a bigger apartment with ample amounts of storage problem.
The upside? Sometimes I forget what I have, and that is how these DIY Pom Pom Napkins happened. It started because I have a set of four cloth napkins, except we often are serving five people during the type of dinner we would use cloth napkins, so I decided to make some myself. The original plan was to do a linocut and stamp the napkins with some gold paint. That project failed miserably. Still in need of more cloth napkins, I started digging through boxes and THAT is when I came across this pom pom trim that I bought for some project that I cannot remember.
I have a lack of a bigger apartment with ample storage space problem. #craftersanonymousClick To TweetThe pom pom trim is from Stitch Studio OC on Etsy, and the plain white napkins are from Amazon. I opted to hand sew the trim on with some matching embroidery thread, but you could easily use a fabric glue that you can wash. The key to hand sewing the trim is to make sure you don’t go all the way through the hemmed edge, but only one layer of fabric, so you don’t see any stitches on the front.
They were also really easy to make. I sat on the couch watching TV while sewing and each pom pom napkin only took the length of one King of the Hill episode and I only stabbed myself with a needle once!
